The politicization of COVID-19 has caused too many to question vaccinations, but does anyone really doubt the seriousness of diseases such as polio, measles and hepatitis?

Gosh, it feels like I’ve been away for so long from writing with the animals of the farm taking over the storytelling the past few weeks.

In a multiple sclerosis publication a few months ago, I read, “Share your story. It just may be someone’s survival guide.”

It has been two and a half years since the COVID pandemic pushed the United States into recession.

It’s always more fun to spend money than to make it. And it can be tempting to borrow or steal money instead of earning it. What’s true in our private lives is true with the government as well.

Politicians used to “encourage” favorable votes from citizens by tapping kegs of whiskey at the polling sites. The stakes are higher these days as our representatives in Washington, D.C., think much bigger both in dollars and constituents. The other difference is that those kegs of whiskey came out of the candidates’ pockets while their successors have the federal treasury on call.

We all need to be open to allowing the spirit of God to examine our hearts and point out places where we may be at fault when facing relational tension.

India celebrated 75 years as an independent nation this summer. That was an extraordinary milestone for the giant, diverse and democratic nation, one that was rightly celebrated around the world.
