Michael David Abell II, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on the night of April 18, 2023 at his mother’s home with his family by his side. He was 54.

Dave entered this life in Seymour, Indiana on October 8, 1968. He was the son of Larry Abell and Esta Weddell Cross. He was dedicated in the Methodist Church at the age of 4 months, and then baptized at the age of 12. He grew up in Noblesville and attended Hamilton Southeastern High School. At the age of 17 he joined the Indiana National Guard. At 19, he joined the US Army and served as a mechanic for the motor pool at Ft. Polk, Louisiana. After his discharge, Dave started working as a roofer and home construction.

Dave was a devoted father and Pa-paw. He was a member of the Union United Methodist Church of Noblesville, Indiana. He was the successful owner of Dave’s Roofing and Construction and served the Indianapolis area for over 25 years. In his free time, he was out riding his Harley-Davidson on the back roads of Indiana.

His love will live on in the memories of his family, a daughter Amanda Abell of Indianapolis, a grandson Anthony, parents Esta Weddell Cross and her husband Russell of Medora and Larry Abell of Florida, brothers, John Abell of Indianapolis, Wayne Cross and his wife Kelley of Medora, and Russell Cross III and his wife Heather of Plymouth, Nebraska, 4 uncles, Willis Weddell and his wife Vickie of Centerpoint, IN, Gary Abell of Kokomo, IN , Terry Abell his wife Billie of Reddington, IN, Michael D. Abell of California, and 2 aunts Mary Quillen and her husband Joseph Clarksville, TN and Martha Weddell of Indianapolis, and several cousins, nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his stepmother Teresa Abell

A Celebration of Dave’s life will be conducted at the Old Carr High School at 10059 County Road 250 South Medora, Indiana 47260 on Saturday April 29, 2023 at 1:00 pm.

Dave’s Final Salute will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47, and Vietnam Vets 7.

Friends may visit at the Old Carr High School on Saturday April 29, 2023, from 11:00 am until time of Dave’s Celebration.

Memorials may be written in Dave’s name to the Old Carr Township High School for upkeep of the historic site.

Final wishes have been entrusted to Hague Funeral Home of Medora.
