Reedy throws no-hitter in BC win

Dalton Reedy threw a no-hitter against Lanesville on Tuesday night at home as the Brownstown Central baseball team won 11-0.

Reedy pitched five innings, allowed five walks and struck out seven batters.

Jaxson Johnson and Chick Tiemeyer both had two hits on the night, and Carson Darlage, Trent Lowery, Grayson Cassidy, Reedy and Ethan Fultz all had one hit.

Darlage’s hit was a three-run home run. Fultz and Tiemeyer also both had three RBI, and Johnson had two RBI.

Brownstown (10-4) will play at Scottsburg on Thursday.

Warriors top Cougars

Scottsburg scored three runs in the bottom of the third to break a 1-1 tie and then added five runs in the fourth to defeat the Trinity Lutheran baseball team 9-2 on Tuesday night.

The Cougars scored single runs in the third and fourth inning with Nathan Voelker and Kowan Gross scoring for Trinity.

Gross had two hits with Voelker, Jackson Trueblood, Luke Coomler and Nathan Finke collecting one hit each. Trueblood had the only RBI.

Peyton Pollert pitched the first 4.1 innings and allowed nine runs, four earned, with one strikeout and two walks. Trueblood finished up on the mound and had two strikeouts.

Trinity (5-8) will host Jac-Cen-Del on Thursday.

Softball

Owls fall to Floyd Central

The Seymour softball team couldn’t muster a run on Tuesday night at Floyd Central as the Highlanders won 7-0.

The Owls got two hits on the night, coming from Phoebe Underwood and Alexia Rieckers.

Underwood pitched 2.1 innings and had one strikeout, and Taylor Stuckwisch pitched 3.2 innings and had four strikeouts.

Seymour (5-9) will be off until Monday when they host Salem.

Senators edge Cougars

West Washington scored single runs in the second, fifth and sixth innings to defeat the Trinity Lutheran softball team 3-0 on Tuesday night.

Both teams had six hits with Bailey Tabeling getting a single and a double to lead the Cougars. Olivia Cain, Dianna Munoz, Maddie Adams and Amanda Finke each had one hit.

Grace Lance allowed the Senators six hits and struck out five. West Washington’s pitcher had nine strikeouts.

Trinity (8-7) will travel to New Washington on Thursday.

Tennis

Trinity tops Waldron

The Trinity Lutheran girls tennis team got back on the winning track as the Cougars beat Waldron 4-1 at home on Tuesday night.

Drew Hubbard won 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 at No. 1 singles, and Samantha Enzinger won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. At No. 1 doubles, Kiley Zabel and Carson Bowling won 6-1, 6-4, and the Cougars won two doubles via forfeit.

Waldron’s Emerson Lindsey beat Siddha Hall 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 2 singles.

Trinity (5-6) will host Hauser on Thursday.

Seymour beats Brown County

The Seymour girls tennis team beat Brown County on the road on Tuesday night 4-1.

Brooke Schafstall won 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Elise Hartung won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. At No. 1 doubles, Jessica Hougland and Caroline Thompson won 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, and Addison Hunsley and Ava Sunbury won 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Claire Combs dropped her No. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-4.

Seymour (9-1) will be off until Monday when they host Jennings County.

Golf

Cougars, Hornets compete at Edinburgh

The Trinity Lutheran and Medora boys golf teams played at Edinburgh on Tuesday night.

The Lancers shot a 187, the Cougars 199 and the Hornets didn’t have a team score.

Jack Stuckwisch shot a 46 for Trinity, Solomon Hall 48, Wylie Jones 51, Andrew Lemming 54 and Gabe Lorenz 60.

Braxton McCory shot a 49 for Medora, and Eli Sturgill shot a 66.

Trinity will host the Cougar Golf Invite on Saturday at Shadowood Golf Course.

Brownstown plays at East

The Columbus East golf team shot a 160 on Tuesday at Otter Creek, while the Brownstown Central boys team shot a 168.

Micah Sheffer was the medalist for the match with a 37, followed by Matthew Reedy 42, Caiden Gwin 42, Chandler Stahl 47 and Smith Hackman 47.

In JV play, Brownstown won 190-210. Collin Downing shot a 46, Elix Preston 47, Connor Gwin 48, Carter Covert 49 and Drew Shelton 55.

The Braves will play in the BNL Invitational on Saturday.

Stainbrook shoots season-best

Crothersville’s Andrew Stainbrook tied his season-best score of 63 on Tuesday night at Henryville.

He was one stroke off his personal best of 62.

Henryville only had two golfers, and Eastern (Pekin) had a full team.

Stainbrook will be off until May 10 when he next competes at New Washington.

Track and field

Track results to come

The track and field teams from Crothersville and Brownstown Central were in action on Tuesday night, but results were unavailable at press time.

Crothersville ran at Scottsburg, and Brownstown hosted Brown County.

Results will be featured in Thursday’s Tribune and online at tribtown.com.
