SEYMOUR

Farrell Jay Sullivan, 87, of Seymour, passed away on January 17, 2023, at Schneck Medical Center. He was born on January 4, 1936, to the late William and Elsie (Snyder) Sullivan. He married the love of his wife, Janet Kretzer Sullivan in Seymour.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jan Sullivan; one daughter, Lisa Sullivan; one brother, David (Mary) Sullivan; one sister, Beth Ann (Stan) Denski; one sister-in-law, Mary Carmichael (Don); one sister-in-law, Vera Schafer; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by both parents, William and Elsie (Snyder) Sullivan; and one brother John Liston Sullivan.

Farrell graduated from Shields High School in 1954 and proudly served in the US Army from 1959-1962. He worked at Arvin’s for over 20 years, in maintenance at Jackson Park for over 20 years and then in maintenance at Immanuel School for 25 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church American Legion Post #89. Farrell and Jan played in several local volleyball leagues for many years. He also enjoyed fishing and playing euchre. He will be greatly missed by his cat, Castle, his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Voss &Sons Funeral Service on Friday January 20, 2023, from 1pm until the time of service at 3:30pm. Burial and military honors will follow the service at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
