Joan A. Kreinhagen of Seymour, IN passed away on December 23, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born in 1938 in Seymour, IN to the late Louis F. Abraham, Sr. and Mentoria (Elsner) Abraham.

Joan was a 1956 graduate of Shields High School and went on to attend Butler University. She married the love of her life George Kreinhagen on November 6,1960. After college she worked at Cummins in Columbus before marring George. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pi Beta Phi sorority, Tri Kappa and Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa, The Lake and Forest Club, and All Thumbs Garden Club. Joan had a passion for giving and volunteered at several organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club where she was a twenty-five-year member, the Art Center, and Meals on Wheels.

Joan enjoyed playing Euchre, Bridge with her Bridge Club, family games, hosting family holiday parties, making memories with friends and family at the lake, trips with the IU Varsity Club, traveling with family, Dirty Dozen Trips (high school friends), and gardening. She also enjoyed IU Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Butler Men’s Basketball, and all her grandchildren’s activities.

Most of all she loved her family, grandchildren, and was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Joan is survived by her children; Linda (Jim) Hume, Jon Kreinhagen, and Kevin (Kendall) Kreinhagen, grandchildren; Lindsey Hume, Emily Hume, Kaiden Kreinhagen, and Kole Kreinhagen, sister-in-law Marsha Abraham, and niece Lisa (Doug) Kloeker, and many loving cousins.

She is preceded by her husband George Kreinhagen, parents Louis F. Abraham, Sr. and Mentoria (Elsner) Abraham, brother Louis Abraham, Jr., and nephew Brian Abraham.

Visitation will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday December 28, 2021, from 5-8pm and on Wednesday December 29, 2021, from 10-11am.

Services will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday December 29, at 11am with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.

Family request memorials be written to Immanuel Lutheran Church Broadcast Fund, Schneck Hospice, or donor’s choice in care of Voss and Sons Funeral Home.
