NORTH VERNON

Mr. Paul Edward Helton, 68, of North Vernon, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Seymour to the late Clifford and Martha (White) Helton.

Paul was a self employed plumber and was also employed at Cummins Engine Co. He enjoyed being outdoors camping, boating, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed discussing politics.

Paul is survived by his children, William (Amanda) Helton and Amber (Jason) Miller; grandchildren, Joseph, Micah, Jackson, Skyelar, Sharla, Xander, Nerissa, Dracen; great-grandchildren, Ali and Marci; brothers, David (Cheryl) Helton, Joseph L. Helton; sister-in-law, Janie Helton and mother of his children, Debbie Shean.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Naomi Smith and brother, Alvin T. Helton.

Private family funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, December 11 with Rev. John Riker officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Family and friends are invited to pay their final respects at a walk-through visitation at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday, December 11 from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. The family appreciates all the prayers and concern for them in this time of loss. Cards and notes of condolence will be most welcome and can be sent through the funeral home.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required before admittance to the funeral home as well as social distancing within the building. We kindly ask that there be no physical contact such as hugs or handshakes to protect staff and the family. Attendance is limited to 25 people at any given time.
