What made you want to pick up this book in the first place?

One, he’s my absolute favorite author. Two, it’s a Christmas story. The New York Times recently described him as “The King of Christmas Fiction,” and they’re not wrong.

Once you got into the book, what made you want to keep reading?

The thing I love about Richard Paul Evans’ books is that he is so personal. The story feels like you are literally sitting in the same room having a conversation.

Once you finished the book, what did you like about it?

There is always a valuable lesson in Richard Paul Evans’ books. Every chapter starts with a verse, quote, etc., and it’s just one of those things where you have to sit a minute and ponder.

What is the book about?

The main character, Noel Post, has recently lost her husband, job and father, which brings her back to Utah, where she hasn’t been in 16 years. While there, she finds out her father left her everything he owned, which includes a bookshop. This book is of Noel’s journey. About everything she thought she knew or witnessed growing up in Utah was not the truth.

Why would you recommend this book to others?

To give hope. One of my absolute favorite quotes from the book is “Christmas is the story of a Father reaching out to His children. Nothing more. Nothing less.” It’s really that simple. I think if you read this book, you won’t be disappointed and will want to continue reading others by him. He has many books to choose from, and they’re not all Christmas.
