Harold Rodney Stepp, formerly of Columbus, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2020 at the Majestic Care of North Vernon. He was 77.

Rodney entered this life on April 6, 1943 in Columbus Indiana. He was the oldest born to Harold and Georgia (McCollum) Stepp. He grew up in the Brownstown area and attended Brownstown Central High School. On May 19, 1969 in Columbus Indiana he married Nora England Stepp. She preceded him on April 11, 1975. In 1989 he moved to Anchorage, Alaska.

Rodney was a loving brother, a great uncle, and he loved his IU sports.

He was a charter member of the Folks and Spokes Bicycle Club. Rodney worked for the Spartan Factory in Brownstown, he was a security guard, and worked at the Wal-Mart in Anchorage Alaska as a greeter until he came back home to Indiana in 2008.

He leaves a legacy of love with his sister; Dixie Klosterman and her husband Jim of Seymour, a nephew Joey Klosterman of Seymour, a niece Rebecca Klosterman of Seymour, an aunt Kay Stepp of Greenwood Indiana, three dear cousins, Rodger Bunch and his wife Wilma of Tennessee, Sue Morgan of Columbus Indiana, and Larry Bunch of Columbus Indiana, and several other cousins also survive.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nora.

A private memorial service will be conducted at Zabel Funeral Home of Brownstown on Friday December 11, 2020 with Pastor Larry Tingle officiating. Burial will be private at Fairview Cemetery.

Memorial may be written in Rodney’s name to Zabel Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
