“October is National Physical Therapy Month, and we wanted to help celebrate it and bring awareness to the public about physical therapy,” Hays said. “We also wanted to participate as a staff and clinic in Global PT Day of Service to help give back to the community.”

Making a difference in the lives of patients and clients is what physical therapy is all about, Hays said.

“Yet, transforming lives does not stop at the clinic,” she said. “We wanted to reach out to our community and look for a way to give back. Service is at the core of who we are and what we do as a physical therapy profession. And we had a lot of fun.”

Pain-free movement is crucial to your quality of life, your ability to earn a living and your independence, Hays said.

Physical therapists are movement experts who can identify, diagnose and treat movement problems and who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care and patient education.

After making a diagnosis, physical therapists create personalized treatment plans that help patients improve mobility, manage pain and other chronic conditions, recover from injury and prevent future injury and chronic disease.

Progressive Physical Therapy is a privately owned outpatient physical therapy practice based in Seymour with locations in Seymour, Columbus and Greensburg. The practice was founded in Seymour in 1987 by Hays and has served its communities for 31 years.
