Tennessee man uninjured in plane crash early Saturday in county

A 31-year-old Tennessee man was uninjured early Saturday morning after his plane crashed in the Jackson-Washington State Forest, police report.

Chad Lowe of Crossville, Tennessee crashed into a dense grove of trees around 1 a.m. near Skyline Drive after the 1962 Piper Colt aircraft he was flying had a mechanical failure, according to a press release by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

No passengers were listed in the press release.

Lowe walked to a nearby residence to ask for help following the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident. Indiana Conservation officers are assisting with the investigation.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
