Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars got back in the win column on Thursday, defeating Jac-Cen-Del 4-2 for their second win of the 2023-24 season. Chase Bode tied the game at one in the second inning with a groundout, that scored Peyton Pollert.

Nathan Finke and Drake Goodpaster had singles in the third inning to take the lead for good. The Cougars will travel to face Indianapolis Lutheran at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Brownstown Central

The Braves hosted Scottsburg on Thursday on the diamond. Brownstown defeated the Warriors 5-3 to grab their eighth win of the season. Trent Lowery pitched a complete game for the Braves, going seven innings, allowing eight hits, three runs, two of them earned and striking out 9.

The team scored four runs to take a 4-2 lead after the first inning, hanging on for the remainder to grab the win. Brownstown picked up four hits by four different players in Jaxson Johnson, Ethan Garland, Pierson Wheeler, and Grayson Cassidy.

Brownstown travels to Clarksville on Monday for a game at 6 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Lady Cougars brought out the offense on Thursday, dominating New Washington 12-2 to improve to 9-4 on the season. Trinity combined for 15 hits, led by Zoey Dulaney who had three of them, followed by Emerson Warren, Olivia Cain, Maddie Adams, DeAnna Rothert, and Dianna Munoz who all recorded two hits.

Grace Lance grabbed the win on the mound, pitching five innings, allowing five hits, one run and stirking out 9 Mustangs in the win. Trinity hosts Edinburgh on Monday at 5 p.m.

Brownstown Central

The Lady Braves faced Corydon Central on Thursday losing to the Panthers 9-5. Corydon got ahead early, leading 6-1 after two innings of play.

Brownstown rallied, but fell short in the effort. Kyndle Huddleston homered to centerfield to score Rylee May and herself. Huddleston led the team with three hits, followed by Kelsey Schneider, Kinzee Dean, and May who had two each.

Brownstown travels to Floyd Central to face the Highlanders on Monday at 6 p.m.

Seymour

The Owls competed at the Golden Bear Invite at Shelbyville on Thursday. Seymour’s boys’ won their meet with a score of 106, edging Indianapolis Cathedral by a point. The girls finished in second place with a score of 83. Cathedral won the girls event with a score of 91.

The Seymour girls’ team competes in the Jennings County Big Blue Invite on Thursday, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Brownstown Central

The Braves competed at Otter Creek Golf Course against Columbus East on Thursday. Brownstown defeated the Olympians by six strokes, winning 158 to 164. Caiden Gwin led the way with the low round of 38, followed by Micah Sheffer and Matthew Reedy who both carded 39’s.

Smith Hackman and Isaiah Sitterding both had 42’s, followed by Caden Waskom with a score of 44. The next scores were from Collin Downing and Cole Brelage with 45. Carter Covert ended with a 48, while Drew Shelton ended with a 49.
