“Last week wasn’t the best for us, we only got one practice in,” he said. “With the long weekend and having yesterday off, I think it hurt us a bit.”

The Seymour head coach spoke about the performance from the team on Tuesday,

“We had a good tournament a few weeks back in our home invite and we had some good scores,” Hoffman said. “We shot 183 as a team today, each player had one or two bad holes, we can eliminate some of those. But we’re striking the ball well as a team.”

Hoffman mentioned that the Owls were a young group.

“We’re a young team, our first five is a freshman, three sophomores and a junior,” he said.

He likes the effort from the team in the beginning stages of the regular season.

“We’ve got things to work with, and they are all working hard every day to get better,” Hoffman said. “I like their attitudes and the culture we have right now is awesome. The way we enjoy and encourage one another is amazing.”

Hoffman also likes the environment surrounding the entire team at the moment.

“It’s a good environment to be in right now,” Hoffman said. “I like the way we are trending, and we always play our best towards the end of the year.”

The Owls will compete at the Jennings County Invite on Saturday at 9 a.m. Seymour will then host Brownstown Central on Friday, Apr. 19th at 5 p.m.
