Lutheran Dartball League finished regular season

Week 21 Results

Monday completed the 72 year of dartball for the Lutheran Dartball League. Sauers E moved into first place on week five and held the top spot for the remainder of the season finishing with a record of 41-19.

Monday they needed two games to clinch the pennant. Sauers E won game one 6-2 and was leading game 2 going into the bottom of the ninth. Clayton Capes of Hayden hit a two run walk-off home run to delay the celebration.

The home run was Clayton’s third of four home runs he hit Monday giving hime a total of 12 for the year. Sauers E left no doubt in game three winning 10-2.

Dudleytown Mets started the night in second place needing one game to assure themselves of at least tying for third. The Mets were playing Immanuel 1 and leading in game one 6-2 when Immanuel scored twice to make it 6-4. In the bottom of the ninth Immanuel got two runners on and Jeff Hubbard hite a triple to tie the

game. Kevin Foster followed with a single to complete the come from behind 7-6 victory. In game two the Mets were down from game one and managed only five hits in losing 5-1.

In game three the Mets scored two runs in the first and never looked back winning 4-2 to finish runner-up in the league.

The league ended up with a three way tie for third place with Sauers B, Wegan W and White Creek N finishing with records of 37 – 23. Sauers B was playing Wegan B. In game one the score was tied goin into the bottom of the ninth when Dan Toppe singled and Don Darlage followed with a walk-off triple for a 3-2 win.

In game two Wegan B scored four runs in the 3rd inning. But Sauers kept chipping away at the lead and had the score tied in the bottom of the ninth.

This time Brian Ligget hit a single and Chad Stuckwisch followed with the walk-off triple for a 6-5 victory. Game three was decided to be a home run contest.

Wegan B got a home run in the first inning but Sauers got homers from Don Darlage, Roger Wischmeier and Derek Rieckers to complete the series sweep 3-1. Wegan W got 2 games from Zion2 and White Creek N only won one game against Borchers.

Wegan C and Dudleytown N played three one run games with Dudleytown winning game one 2-1 and game three 5-4. In between Wegan C won a slugfest by the score of 15-14.

The tournament took place on Apr. 1st.
