Brownstown tennis

The Brownstown Central Braves varsity boys tennis team traveled to North Harrison on Thursday for a matchup. The Braves would drop the match with the Cougars 3-2.

No. 1 Singles: Jakob Hoyer defeated Smith Hackman of Brownstown 6-1, 6-2. No. 2 Singles: Pierson Wheeler dominated Zach Miller of North Harrison, sweeping both sets 6-0. No. 3 Singles: Lane Steward defeated Mason Swarens 6-1, 6-2.

In doublesm North Harrison won both games. The No. 1 doubles team of Jace Martin and Blake Kellems defeated Chase Brock and Evan Schneider 6-1, 6-0. The No. 2 team of Colten Smith and Caden Hoehn defeated Max Peters and Brady Davis 6-3, 6-4.

Seymour volleyball

The Seymour volleyball team traveled to Providence to face the Pioneers on Thursday.

Providence got the better of Seymour, winning in three sets, 25-6, 25-13, 25-18. The loss was the first of the season for the Owls.

Emerson Johnson recorded six kills to lead the team, Journee Brown recorded three kills for the Owls and Raeann Baker recorded two. Anna Fish led the way in assists with nine. Fish also recorded the only ace for Seymour in the contest. Norah Campbell recorded 13 defensive digs to lead the team.

The Owls return home to host Madison on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Medora volleyball

After winning its match on Monday, Medora traveled to West Washington to compete again on Thursday. The Hornets fell behind early, dropping the first two sets 25-15, 25-11. Medora battled back, winning the next two sets 25-23, 25-19, forcing a fifth and final set. West Washington hung on to defeat Medora 15-10 in the final set to secure the win.
