To the editor:

Congratulations to the Jackson County Fair board for an excellent 2023 Jackson County Fair, put on under difficult weather conditions.

It’s no wonder that the Jackson County Fair has been the Grand Champion Fair in Indiana eight times.

The board starts planning year-round and with the help of hundreds of volunteers.

The fair with large livestock shows, excellent 4-H activities, great food and scheduled activities came off without a hitch.

The grandstand entertainment was one of the best we’ve ever had. Saturday’s 4-H Livestock Auction was again one for the record books. Poor Jack Amusements provided an outstanding midway for our youth.

All of the fair activities are done with no gate fees or paid parking. All of Jackson County can be proud of this great tradition.
