Seymour shoots best score

The Seymour boys golf team shot its best score of the season so far as the Owls shot a 164 at Columbus North on Tuesday.

The Bull Dogs shot a 153.

Luke Baker led the Owls with a 39, Manny Fontanez shot a 41, Ty Stuckwisch 42, Noah Surface 42, Trevor Alberring 49 and Trent Morris 57.

The Owls will be playing the Hoosier Hills Conference meet at Timbergate on Monday.

Braves match cancelled

The Brownstown Central boys golf team had its match at Salem cancelled on Tuesday due to rain.

The Braves will be competing in the Jasper Invite on Saturday.

Baseball

Owls roll past Pirates

The Seymour baseball team picked up a 10-0 win at Charlestown on Tuesday night.

Charlie Longmeier had two hits, and Bret Perry, Gavin Leavy, Aiden Darlage, Braden Richey, Brady Harpe and Grayson Key all had one hit.

Longmeier hit a home run and had three RBI to lead Seymour. Leavy and Harpe each had two RBI, and Skyler Cockerham and Grayson Key each had one RBI.

Darlage pitched six innings and had six strikeouts, and Richey pitched the final inning and had two strikeouts.

Seymour (20-4) will play in the at the Haustetter Classic at Richmond on Friday.

Cougars get road win

The Trinity Lutheran baseball team scored a 5-2 win at Greenwood Christian on Tuesday night.

Drake Goodpaster had two hits and Nathan Voelker had one hit and two RBI for Trinity. Runs were scored by Cole Brewer, Kowan Gross, Peyton Pollert, Goodpaster and Voelker.

Voelker pitched all seven innings for Trinity and had four strikeouts.

The Cougars (12-13) will play at Clarksville on Thursday.

Crothersville game cancelled

The Crothersville baseball team cancelled its home game against Shawe Memorial on Tuesday due to wet field conditions.

The Tigers will close its regular season schedule on Friday at home against South Decatur.

Softball

Cougars win big

The Trinity Lutheran softball got the offense back on track on Tuesday as the Cougars beat Christian Academy 12-0.

Bailey Tabeling had four hits, Grace Lance and Addie Keaton each had two hits, and Madison Keith, Morgan Brewer, Olivia Cain and Rowan Sharp all had one hit.

Tabeling and Keith both had two RBI, and Lance, Keaton, Brewer, Cain and Sharp all had one RBI.

Lance went the distance in the circle and only allowed two hits while striking out 10.

The Cougars (13-10) will close out their regular season on Thursday at Brown County.
