Perry takes Scott Patman Memorial race at Brownstown

The Scott Patman Memorial for the Pewter Hall Super Stocks was held May 6 at Brownstown Speedway.

Austin Perry of Columbus set the fast time, won his heat race and then capped off the evening with a Scott Patman Memorial feature win, his first in the annual event.

Perry got his first Pewter Hall Super Stocks win of the year over Tanner Chastain, J.T. Huffman, Zach Sasser and Craig Markel. Rounding out the top 10 were Isaiah Sasser, Blake Hull, Colton Sullivan, Jim Ruddick and Webb Lee. Isaiah Sasser got the Slim Fast Hard Charger award.

Defending Modified track champion Jordan Wever of Bloomington made the switch to P3 Graphix Indiana Late Model Series Pro Late Models for 2023, and it did not take him long to find victory lane. Alan Magner and Chad Stapleton battled early in the Pro Late Model feature with Wever following. Wever worked his way to the front and took over the lead with five laps to go to record his first ILMS victory. Magner, Stapleton, Justin Shaw and Marty O’Neal followed Wever at the finish.

Paul Ortman of Seymour got his first win of 2023 in All in One Pools Pure Stocks. Mickey Hines jumped out to an early lead with Ortman and William Burton following. Hines pulled off late in the race, and Ortman went on to score the win over William Burton, A.J. Warren, T.J. Wright and Daniel Hupp.

In the Haymaker Customs Hornet division, Jeremy Shemwell of Indianapolis made it two straight wins in 2023. He jumped to the early lead and held off all challengers to get the victory. Blake Durbin, Michael Brewer, Shannon Walp and Brian Pollitt followed Shemwell to the checkers.

Aaron Seay of Sellersburg visited victory lane in Flag 2 Flag Media Crown Vic feature action. He led from flag to flag for the win over Phillip Boudreaux, Jeff Roberts, Michael Cranmer and Brandon Cranmer.

Moffatt wins at Lawrenceburg

Joss Moffatt of Columbus picked up his first sprint car feature win of 2023 on May 6 at Lawrenceburg Speedway. Tyler Kendall was second, followed by Nick Bilbee, Jack Hoyer and Garrett Abrams. In other racing action, Matt Hamilton won the modified feature, Will Hayes took the pure stock feature and Landen Ramirez captured the hornet division feature.

Wolf wins Columbus TQ race

Connor Wolf won the first All-Star Circuit of Champions TQ Midget feature of the season May 6 at Tony Stewart Speedway in Columbus. Nelson Stewart finished in the runner-up spot, followed by Logan Pickett, Ashlea Albertson and Joey Paxson.

Kinser wins at Bloomington

Jordan Kinser of Bedford won the sprint car feature May 5 at Bloomington Speedway. Tye Mihocko was second, followed by Brady Short, Trey Osborne and Jake Scott. Josh Harris won the modified feature over Logan Mounce, Jacoby Hines, John Clippinger and Brent Lee. Michael Brewer took the hornet feature over Jeremy Shemwell, Alex Wilson and Shane Reed.
