Crothersville junior high boys track team wins SAC

The Crothersville junior high boys track and field team won the Southern Athletic Conference title Monday for the first time since 2014.

The Tigers finished with 138.5 team points, finishing in front of Borden 116, Henryville 63, South Central 48, Lanesville 42 and New Washington 16.5.

Brayden Heath won the 100 in 13.08, and Drake Hamilton was third in 13.44. Heath was second in the 200 (26.95), and Hamilton was third (27.56).

Kolton Blevins was fourth in the 400 in 1:08.84, Koby Davis was second in the 800 (2:34.07) and Davis won the 1600 in 5:29.01.

Blevins was third in the 110 hurdles (20.86), and Jackson Smith was fourth (21.46).

Crothersville’s 4×100 relay team of Triston Tatlock, Hamilton, Carter Jones and Heath took first place in 54.10, and those four Tigers also won the 4×200 relay in 1:52.79.

In the 4×400 relay, the team of Blevins, Jude Howard, Jones and Davis placed second in 4:30.20.

Tatlock was second in high jump (5-4), while Blevins was sixth (4-4). Tatlock was second in long jump (15-9), while Jones was sixth (13-7).

Jude Howard won shot put at 36-6.5, and Gage Howard was second at 34-9.5. Jude was second in discus (86-8.25), and Gage was fourth (78-1).

The Tigers are coached by Noah Hoskins, who was an eighth-grader the last time the team won the SAC.
