Michal “Mike” Duane Remington, 52, of Seymour passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023, unexpectedly at his residence. He was born on July 2, 1970, in Oceanside, California, the son of Bruce Wayne and Margaret (DeGraff) Remington.

Mike is survived by four children, Alexis (Benjamin) Wash of Fontana, CA, Megan (Shawn) Moore of Holton, IN, Brantley Remington and Weston Root both of Seymour. In addition to his children Mike is survived by nine grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Zambrano and Brian Bland both of Columbus, IN; one sister, Melissa Bland also of Columbus; and his companion, Alissa Root of Seymour.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike was employed at Nippon Steel Pipe America, INC in Seymour where he was a group leader. When he wasn’t working Mike could be found fishing or listening to hard rock metal music, especially Metallica. If he wasn’t at his favorite fishing spot you could find Mike out collecting Hot Wheels or spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at this Voss and Son’s Funeral Home. There will be no service, but friends are invited to the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brantley Remington Education Fund.
