Gary Wirt Scholarship winners announced

First-time awardees of the Gary Wirt Scholarship for the year 2023 who attended the Jackson Masonic Lodge 146 scholarship awards banquet on May 26 are, front from left, Makenna McCord, Emma Wichman, Brayden Stockelman and Caitlin Thomasma, and back from left, Grace Claycamp, Brooke Schafstall, Wyatt Wischmeier, Cali Cummings and William Smith. A total of 36 Masonic and nine non-Masonic scholarships were awarded totaling more than $56,268 for this year. Masonic scholarships are available to members of the lodge for their children and grandchildren. The non-Masonic scholarships are available to graduating seniors through the guidance counselors at the five high schools in Jackson County. They are available after Jan. 1 of the year applying. Scholarships can be applied to colleges and trade schools.
