The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church in Seymour met March 28 with Paula Stafford presiding.

There were 17 members present, including a new member, Leslie Martin.

Stafford thanked everyone for coming and commented on the table decorations of flowers and candy.

Everyone present received “The Jelly Bean Gospel,” which reminds people of the events of Easter when they look at what the colorful jelly beans represent.

Betsy McDonald gave devotions and followed with prayer.

Lucy Dembek introduced Melanie O’Neal of Seymour and her daughter. O’Neal gave a presentation about The Arc of Jackson County, where she works to help individuals with special needs. She expressed an interest for playground equipment. O’Neal was thanked for coming to talk to the society.

Judy McDonald read the minutes, and Betty Guinn gave last month’s treasury report.

A motion was made and seconded to give $150 to The Arc of Jackson County for playground equipment. The motion passed.

The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction. Refreshments followed.

The next meeting is April 25 with Dembek’s Group 4.
