The Jackson County Board of Zoning Appeals will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jackson County Courthouse, 111 S. Main St., Brownstown.

Applicant Jason Long is petitioning for a special exception to operate a commercial self-storage business on a 1.40-acre parcel in a general business zoning district.

Long is proposing to construct three 20-by-130-foot units at 10350 N. U.S. 31 in Redding Township.

The Jackson County Plan Commission gave Long favorable recommendation during a March 21 meeting; however, there was some concern with the logistics of the operation in regard to entrances and water runoff points.

Some of the plan commissioners said they had concerns with a shared entrance with a neighboring home because of an anticipated increase in traffic.

Building Commissioner Conner Barnette will bring comments and concerns from the board to the BZA.

The public hearing will be open to the public and press.
