Carolyn Sue (Mills) Traub, of Seymour, passed away unexpectedly at her home on the late afternoon of March 30, 2023. She was 77 years old.

Carolyne entered this life on July 4, 1945 in Effingham, Illinois. the only daughter born to the late Charles and Lorraine (Richars) Mills. She was a 1963 graduate of Dieterich High School. On March 6, 1965 at the Bethseida Church in rural Dieterich she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Thomas Traub. From this union of over 56 years, they were blessed with two children Lori and Travis. Mr. Traub preceded on November 19, 2021.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and Grandma. She loved watching her sports. She would watch her husband play travelling fastpitch softball until he hung up his bat. She loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals play and would brighten up when she would find a fellow Cardinal fan in the area. She enjoyed bowling, reading a good book, watching game shows and being the biggest fan at her grandchildren’s sporting events. Caroly n worked as a bookkeeper for over 22 years at Jackson County Insurance of Brownstown. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Seymour, the American Legion, and the Eagles Club.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Lori Lustig and her husband Greg of Effingham, IL and Travis Traub and his wife Sherry of Medora, grandchildren Kyle Lustig and his wife Natalya, Tyler Davis, Lexi McKinney, Piper Asher, Gwyneth Morris, TJ Traub, Trent Traub great-grandchildren, William David “Liam” Traub and Levi Lustig, and her dearest friend, Karen Eudaly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother Charles Mills, Jr.

Funeral Services for Carolyn will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Tuesday April 4, 2023 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Seymour. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 11:00 am until time of the service.

Memorials may be written in Carolyn’s name to Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Lung Association, or to the Eagles Club of Seymour.
