Library announces April programs

The Jackson County Public Library is offering a variety of programs for adults and teens in April.

Yarn crafters are invited to bring their own projects and meet for the Yarn Artists program at 2 p.m. April 4 and 18. This new ongoing program is led by Kathi Linz and will meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

Make a seasonal Peeps House at the Medora Library at 2 p.m. April 6. This program is for ages 18 and up and is limited to 10 registrants. Registration is required by March 30.

Adult crafters can make a paper clip bird at the Crothersville Library at 4:30 p.m. April 12. Registration is required by April 10.

Traditional Arts Indiana artist Jim Smoak will perform at the Seymour Library at 1 p.m. April 22. He began playing the five-string banjo professionally in the 1950s and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and toured with several groups during the 1950s and ’60s. He is a 2022 Indiana Heritage Fellow, and the program is sponsored by Friends of the Jackson County Public Library.

Adults are invited to make nature bookmarks using pressed flowers with Information Services Assistant Trina Roark at 2 p.m. April 28 in the Seymour Library meeting room. Registration is required by April 26 with a limit of 15 attendees.

Programs offered for teens ages 12 to 19 will meet in the Seymour Teen Scene unless otherwise noted.

Teens are invited to Dog Poetry at 5:30 p.m. April 3. Attendees will create a poem and read them to professional dog trainer Izzy Steltenpohl and her dogs. Registration is required by March 31.

Make seasonal Peeps S’mores at 6 p.m. April 6. Registration is required by April 4.

Teens can plant seeds during Seed Babies at 5 p.m. April 13 and 14. Attendees can customize their plant pot on the first day of the program and learn about starting seeds the next day. Registration is required by April 4 with a limit of eight registrants.

The Intro to Digital Art program will be offered at 5 p.m. April 18. Teen attendees should bring their own drawing tablet. Registration is required by April 14.

Teen can make a Berry Good Salad at Easy Peasy Cuisiney at 5:30 p.m. April 20. Registration is required by April 18.
