Tax abatements among city council agenda items

The Seymour City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at city hall, 301-309 N. Chestnut St., Seymour.

The agenda includes compliance with statement of benefits from Cummins Inc., Valeo North America Inc., Rose Acre Farms, Old Towne Marketplace II LLC and Martin City Safety Storage LLC and a statement of benefits from Cummins.

There also will be a public hearing for the preliminary engineering report for improvements of the city’s wastewater plant and collection system and second reading of an ordinance amending city code regarding a sidewalk program.

In new business, a resolution will be introduced requesting the preliminary engineering report for the wastewater plant and collection system improvements, and a bond series reimbursement resolution will be presented.

Plus, there will be three resolutions introduced regarding tax abatements for Cummins — two for qualified personal property and one for real estate improvements.
