Reader supports decision to drop ‘Dilbert’

To the editor:

Under the First Amendment, “Dilbert” creator Scott Adams has the right to say horrifically racist statements, but the Bill of Rights does not guarantee him the right to be published. None of us, including a famous cartoonist, have the right to force a newspaper to publish our work.

As Time reported, Adams stated that the “best advice I would give to white people is get the hell away from Black people. Just get the f-ck away. Wherever you have to go, just get away.”

Adams has my pity, not for losing substantial income over his actions, but rather for failing to see Black people as fellow humans deserving of love and respect. Thank you.
