A Jackson County woman who sustained injuries in a motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon in Seymour was airlifted to a regional hospital.

Heather Scott, 47, of Brownstown was treated at the scene of the wreck in the 900 block of East Tipton Street by personnel with Jackson County Emergency Medical Service, according to a news release from Seymour Police Department Officer Tim Toborg.

She was then taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour before being flown to University of Louisville Hospital.

Scott was injured when the 2003 Harley-Davidson she was driving westbound on Tipton Street was involved in a wreck with a 2008 Honda Accord being driven by Toy A. Martin, 65, of Columbus, police said.

Witnesses told investigators Martin was driving east on Tipton Street when he made a left turn, crossing both westbound lanes into the motorcycle’s lane of travel, police said.

The motorcycle sustained front-end damage, while the Honda sustained damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The wreck, reported at 5 p.m., remains under investigation.
