Braves beat Bulldogs

Jack Benter poured in 37 points to help the Brownstown Central boys basketball team defeat New Albany 67-45 on the Bulldogs’ floor Tuesday night.

The Braves held a 30-26 lead at the half and finished strong by outscoring New Albany 23-11 in the fourth period.

Chace Coomer added 13, Parker Hehman scored five, Colby Hall scored four, and Jakob Arthur, Carson Darlage, Adam Stahl and Micah Sheffer scored two apiece.

The Braves are now 18-4 this season and will host Orleans on Friday night to close out their regular season.

Trinity falls at Greenwood Christian

Greenwood Christian handed Trinity Lutheran a 60-42 loss at Greenwood.

The hosts held an 11-4 lead after one period before Trinity moved on top 20-17 at the half.

Levi Pottschmidt topped the Cougars with 13 points, Jack Stuckwsich scored 11, Kowan Gross seven, Kole Shewmaker five, and Luke Coomler and Eli Ballard scored two each.

The Cougars finished the regular season 6-16 and will now turn their attention to sectionals next week at New Washington High School.

Trinity will await the winner of Shawe Memorial and New Washington, who play Tuesday night.

Tigers lose at Lanesville

The Crothersville boys basketball team suffered an 80-38 loss at Lanesville on Tuesday night.

The Tigers trailed 15-9 after one, 39-17 at halftime and 58-32 after three quarters.

Preston West scored 12, Elijah Plasse nine, Beau Napier six, Lucas Hilton four, Corey Kelshaw four and Dirk Crater three.

The Tigers are now 8-13 this season and will close their regular season slate out on Friday night at Austin.
