Local state legislators will report on their work and priorities for the current session of the Indiana General Assembly in a virtual legislative update from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

The public is invited to participate in the free Zoom event, which is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Bloomington-Monroe County, Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, League of Women Voters of Brown County and Brown County Chamber of Commerce.

State senators Eric Koch (District 44) and Shelli Yoder (District 40) and state representatives Dave Hall (District 62), Bob Heaton (District 46), Peggy Mayfield (District 60) and Matt Pierce (District 61) have been invited to report back to their constituents and take questions from attendees about the current legislative session.

To register for the Zoom meeting, go to lwv-bmc.org/legis-update. Questions should be framed to elicit general information and enable any of the legislators to weigh in.

This is the first of four virtual legislative updates planned this year. Others are scheduled for the same time Feb. 11, March 11 and April 8. All sessions will be recorded by Community Access Television Services through the Monroe County Public Library with the video available online at lwv-bmc.org/legis-update shortly after each session.

The work of the Indiana General Assembly can be followed online at iga.in.gov, which provides a wealth of information and offers the possibility to track the progress of individual bills.
