Senior citizens center seeks members

The Crothersville Senior Citizens Center is seeking additional active members.

Area residents ages 50 and over are invited to attend daily gatherings at the center, 114 E. Main St., Crothersville. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In addition to lunch, members enjoy table games and cards and scheduled bingo games. Meals are provided through Thrive Alliance in Columbus.

The local senior citizens group owns both the building and a special bus; however, in the absence of a bus driver, members voluntarily fill in and transport those needing rides. Kelley Sue Hensley serves as director of the center.

Fundraisers are held on appropriate occasions to help provide funds needed for operation. The building also is available for rental, which may be arranged by calling 812-793-0095 or coming in during the open hours.

For information about programs, interested individuals also may call that number.
