
Five North Vernon residents face multiple drug charges stemming from an investigation Thursday.
They were booked into the Jennings County Jail in North Vernon after their arrests, according to a news release from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation was conducted by county Officer John Amis, who applied for and was granted a Jennings Circuit Court search warrant for a residence in Vernon Township, police said.
At about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, officers served the warrant and made contact with the five people.
During the search of the residence, officers reported finding about half of an ounce of fentanyl, items associated with the sale of illegal narcotics, methamphetamine, syringes, drug paraphernalia, LSD and marijuana.

The following preliminary charges have been requested for the five:
Kimberly Earl, 38 — dealing a narcotic drug, a Level 3 felony; possession of a narcotic drug, a Level 6 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony; violation of the Legend Drug Act, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor; possession of marijuana; a Class B misdemeanor
Billy Cathey, 50 — possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony; maintaining a common nuisance, Level 6 felony; violation of the Legend Drug Act, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor
Kayla Harding, 31 — possession of a hypodermic syringe or needle, a Level 6 felony; visiting a common nuisance, a Class B misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; Jackson County warrant
Justin Spaulding, 29 — visiting a common nuisance, a Class A misdemeanor
