Frank E. Prewitt, 87, of Seymour, passed from this life at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at his home.

Mr. Prewitt was born July 7, 1935, in Seymour, the son of James Guy and Lela Faye Hitch Prewitt.

He married Carolyn E. Sandhage, October 17, 1955, who he loved more than anything. She preceded him in death May 31, 2020.

Mr. Prewitt was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour.

He was formerly employed at Thompson’s Dairy in Seymour as a milkman and later retired from Cummins Engine Company as an Instrumentation Specialist after more than 30 years of service.

He enjoyed going to auctions where he was the ringmaster for Richard Tuggle and also enjoyed tinkering on the farm, going to the Casino, spending time with family and family gatherings.

Survivors include his children, Lisa (Doug) Cline of Columbus, James (Crystal) Prewitt, Andrew (Anita) Prewitt and Craig (Stephanie) Prewitt all of Seymour; grandchildren, Jessica (Doug) Trueblood, Nathan (Megan) Cline, Amber (Darrin) Stidham, Cassie Prewitt, Adam (Lauren) Cline, Allisha (Levi) Nehrt, Leslie (Heather) Terry, Jodi (Michael Fitzpatrick) Prewitt, Jordan (Ashlee) Prewitt, Justin Prewitt, Rebecca (Mike Lucas) Peacock, Brittani (Kenneth) Willoughby, Lillie (Michael) Watson, Talon Prewitt and Mia Prewitt; thirty-five great-grandchildren and a brother, Dennis (Bobby) Prewitt of Flowery Branch, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour with Father Dan Staublin officiating.

A time of visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to time of service.

He will be laid to rest next to his wife at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery-Four Corners.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or Jackson County Human Society.
