The Friday night lineup for the Jackson County Watermelon Festival’s Rock the Rind was announced Friday morning.

Sara Evans, who has earned recognition as the fifth most played female artist on country radio, will be joined by two Hoosier acts, singer-songwriter Christine Kindred and country band Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders, for the Aug. 4 show at Heritage Park, 121 E. Walnut St., Brownstown.

Festival officials are putting the finishing touches on the Aug. 5 lineup, which they said is going to be stacked with five additional artists.
