Ora “Nadine” Downey, 95, of North Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Autumn Trace in North Vernon.

Born September 2, 1927, in Frankfort, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Claude Vincent Webster Sr. and Ella B. Gross Webster. She married Donald Eugene Downey on September 4, 1949, in North Vernon; he preceded her in death on February 24, 2012.

Nadine was a 1946 graduate of Lovett High School and was a homemaker and housewife. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in North Vernon and Crystal Lake Club in Avon Park, Florida. Nadine enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery, cooking, canning vegetables, and writing poetry.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Garry) Euler of Lake Placid, Florida, Bev Losey of Fox Island, Washington, and Judy Sanders of North Vernon; grandchildren, Michael Dan Euler of Tacoma, Washington, Clinton (Nicole) Euler of Orlando, Florida, Nicholas Losey of Fox Island, Washington, and Megan (Daniel Smith) Sanders and Kelsy (Derrick Reed) Sanders, both of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Owen Euler and Noah Euler, both of Orlando, Florida, and Elijah Sanders Smith, Lucas Reed, Lilly Grace Reed, and Lainey Faith Reed, all of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers, Emile Delph, Roy Webster, Vincent Claude Webster, Matthew Webster, and Claude V. Webster Jr.

A funeral service for Nadine will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Rev. Tim Goodpasture and David Webster officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Nadine through the funeral home to the Alzheimer’s Association.
