The 77th annual Christmas Basket Fund grew to $5,345 on Thursday thanks to recent donations totaling $600.

Those donations are:

In memory of Ray “Smokey,” Iva Ann and Janice Lee, $50, from Darrin and Shawna Boas

In memory of Gene Speaker, $100, from the family

In memory of Andy and Frankie Elsner, $100, from Gloria Elsner

In memory of Joy, $100, from Bill Kamman

In memory of Charles and Nora Lucas and family, $100, from Harold “Stretch” and Patty Wineinger

In memory of Dora and Harold “Dutch” Wineinger and Junior Wineinger, $100, from Harold “Stretch” and Patty Wineinger

Merry Christmas, $50, from Randy Bobb

Requests for assistance will be accepted through Dec. 15. To receive a gift card, people must live in Jackson County and submit a letter stating their need for assistance. Requests should be mailed to American Legion Basket Fund, P.O. Box 566, Seymour, IN 47274.

Donations may be mailed to or dropped off at American Legion Post 89, The Tribune or any JCBank branch.
