BROWNSTOWN

Mark Wayne Reynolds SR., 51, of Brownstown, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022, in a tragic accident in Columbus, IN.

Mark was born March 2, 1971, in Seymour, to Marvin &Connie Reynolds and they survive in Medora. He graduated from Medora High School in 1989 after playing basketball &running cross country all through his school years.

On April 4, 2009, Mark married the love of his life, Staci Turner. Along with his marriage vows, Mark read a vow to be a loving &caring stepped up Daddy to Ashlyn &Colton Fox, joining his children Mark Jr. &Jaelyn. Mark was the proudest Dad of his children and was an amazing Father. In August 2017, Mark’s heart grew bigger as he became a Papaw for the first time to Millison. Then in November 2021, he gained a grandson, his namesake, Louis Mark. Mark loved his family like non other, he rarely held a conversation without mentioning one of his kids and if you knew him, you know how big he loved his wife &family.

In March 2013, Mark was baptized in the Christian faith and became a member of Driftwood Christian Church, serving as a Deacon. Mark was a true disciple, and his Christian faith was strong. His Christian love contributed to his love to help others with any task, no matter how big or small.

Mark had worked at Aisin and Walmart DC before going to work for Reynolds Logging &Brickyard Lumber. He was the Class President of the 179th class of NHLA lumber inspection school where he was awarded the Lumberman’s Club Leadership award. He became Brickyard Lumbers first lumber grader and began mentoring others.

Mark had an astronomical love for sports. He grew up watching and loving IU Basketball &football, Cincinnati Reds, &the Colts with his Dad &Papaw. In the 1990’s, Mark became one of the biggest Brownstown Braves fans in the town. He rarely missed a Braves game. Staci knew not to make plans if there was a Braves game because Mark would be going with his Dad. Mark never missed a game his children played in and coached all 4 of his kids in basketball and baseball over the years. Mark became known as the “Train Horn Guy” at the Braves football games. Later, he also became known as the “canoon guy”. He found a lot of joy in supporting those boys every Friday night. The only irritating sport to him was golf, as he never figured out how to win against Ashlyn.

Mark was a baseball umpire for 26 years and most of his summer &fall weekends were spent at a ballpark doing what he loved, watching sports. He was also a board member for the Brownstown Town Council and the JCIDC. His latest hobby had become collecting case knives.

Mark will be greatly missed by his parents, Marvin &Connie; his wife, Staci and children, Mark (Tori) Reynolds, Jaelyn (Matt) Cunningham, Ashlyn &Colton Fox; grandchildren, Millie &Louie Cunningham; brothers, Michael (AJ) Reynolds, Marty (Lori) Reynolds; brother-in-law, Scott (Mitzi) Turner; sister-in-laws, Amy &Alisha Johnson; several aunts, uncles, &cousins.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents: James &Martha Reynolds, Elzia Beavers,

Abe &Mae Murphin; an aunt, Darlene Brewer; uncles, Richard &Joe Beavers; his in-laws Jim &Doanne Turner who loved him more than their own children most days; and the mother of his oldest children, Dawn Berry.
