Roy E. Caudill, 86, of Crothersville, IN, passed away at 4:25 AM on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, IN. Roy was born on Tuesday, May 26, 1936, in Breathitt County, KY. He is the son of Frank Caudill and Nancy (Barrett) Coker. He moved to Indiana in 1955. On October 22, 1954, Roy married Betty (Hall) Caudill in Beattyville, KY. She survives in rural Crothersville, IN. In 1955 Roy and Betty left Kentucky and moved to Indiana for employment opportunities. Roy was employed by Red Perry and drove a fuel oil truck for 16 years; he was a machine operator at Arvin Industries & Cummins Engine Company and was a diesel mechanic for Rumpke. Throughout his life, Roy was loving and caring and worked hard to support his family, who he loved with all his heart was very devoted to. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could build anything. Roy was a great man of faith, a member of Seymour Community Church and Scott Lodge #120 F&AM in Austin, IN. He never met a stranger, enjoyed joking around, camping, traveling to 48 States, and all over the West. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty Caudill of Crothersville, IN, his 5 children, James Caudill of Crothersville, IN, Thelma Caudill of Austin, IN, Kenneth Caudill of Crothersville, IN, Roy Jr. Caudill of Crothersville, IN, and Barb Jent (Ralph) Gary of Scottsburg, IN, 13 grandchildren, Jimmy Caudill, Paul Jones Jr., Amy Henderson, Clinton Jones, Kevin Jacecko, Josh Caudill, Chris Caudill, Doc Jent, Levi Lockridge, Travis Caudill, Nathan Caudill, Matthew Caudill and Tristan Vogel, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Caudill and Nancy (Barrett) Coker, son, Michael Lynn Caudill, 5 sisters, Daisy McIntosh, Irene Little, Edna Harold, Bertha Peters, and Patsy Miller, 2 brothers, Morton Caudill, 2 great grandchildren, Christopher Michael Verble Caudill and Keegan Caudill, 2 brothers, Morton Caudill and Saul Caudill. Reverend Paul Jones Jr. and Reverend Danny Bowling will conduct funeral services at Noon on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, IN with burial to follow at Pigeon Roost Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and after 10:00 AM until the service time all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville. A Masonic service conducted by the Scott Lodge #120 will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2022.
