Salvation Army gearing up for Red Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army in Seymour is looking for some help this year with its annual Red Kettle Campaign, which begins Nov. 19.

Bell ringers are needed outside both entrances at Walmart Supercenter, 1600 E. Tipton St., Seymour. To sign up, visit registertoring.com and choose the day and times that work best for you or call 812-522-8718 and speak with Kendall Lambring.

The organization also is in need of someone to help coordinate and oversee the operations of the campaign.

“Besides actual bell ringers, there are some behind-the-scenes responsibilities that we need help with,” said Gordon Hoag, southern liaison for The Salvation Army Indiana Division. “It doesn’t have to be all one person. Some responsibilities can be divided up so one person isn’t overwhelmed. So you can get a friend, co-worker or family member to help also.”

Anyone interested in learning details and expectations of helping with the campaign in this way may contact Hoag at 812-340-2640.

“I would love to get together and discuss our needs for a successful campaign,” he said. “The Salvation Army has assisted over 100 persons in a crisis situation this year in our community, and we need help to be able to continue that assistance in 2023.”
