Ladies Aid 3 of Immanuel Lutheran Church recently met at the Seymour church with 16 present.

Rosalie Grabinski, Donna Otte and Sandee Helwig were hostesses for the evening. The meeting was opened with prayer by the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, singing of the hymn “A Mighty Fortress” and reciting of Psalm 46.

Blomenberg shared a message about work being done in Christ’s name for our neighbors who live far from us but in whose lives we can bring relief. He spoke specifically about hurricane victims in Puerto Rico and Florida. We can help them by praying and offering financial support through organizations such as Orphan Grain Train and Lutheran Church Missouri Synod World Relief.

President Helwig conducted the business meeting, notes of thanks were read and committee reports given.

The annual arts and crafts bazaar will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 5. This year, 21 new vendors and 45 returning vendors are scheduled with a few more spaces possible. The luncheon committee is working hard and adding some new items this year.

The constitution and bylaws were reviewed and revisions noted.

The nominating committee reported the slate of officers for next year.

Plans for the annual Christmas party are in progress, and it’s set for Dec. 20 at the church.

The meeting was concluded with the collection of Mites for missions and reciting of the Lord’s Prayer.
