Library announces October programming

The Jackson County Public Library is offering programs for adults in October.

Adult crafters are invited to make a wine bottle scarecrow at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 12 the Crothersville Library. Registration is required by Oct. 10.

In honor of the 35th anniversary of “The Princess Bride” by William Goldman, book and movie fans ages 16 and older are invited to movie trivia in the Seymour Library meeting room at 2 p.m. Oct. 22. Registration is required by Oct. 20.

Author, speaker and blogger Joy Neighbors will present “Stories from the Grave” at 2 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Seymour Library. Registration for this program, sponsored by Friends of the Jackson County Public Library, is required by Oct. 27.

Programs offered for teens ages 12 to 19 will meet in the Seymour Teen Scene unless otherwise noted.

Learn to make chicken adobo and rice at 4 p.m. Oct. 13. Registration is required by Oct. 10.

Teens are invited to a fall lock-in from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 14 or from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Seymour Library. Crothersville teens need to register by Oct. 12 and Seymour teens by Oct. 25.

Teens in grades 6 to 12 can learn more about tarot at 4 p.m. Oct. 19. Registration is required by Oct. 17.

Gamers ages 13 to 18 in Seymour, Crothersville and Medora are invited to join the JCPL Teen Discord server for Among Us Spooks at 4 p.m. Oct. 20.

Teen specialist Hillary Pacheco will lead the Scene Reading book discussion at 4 p.m. Oct. 25. The group will discuss “The Girls I’ve Been” by Tess Sharpe.
