Wilma Deloris “Meemaw” Frische, age 84, of Brownstown, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Frische was a member of Brownstown United Methodist Church. She also attended and was active in the Brownstown Christian Church.

Wilma was fortunate to raise her sons at home, while doing the bookkeeping for her husband’s business, John Frische Building Contractor. In addition, she was an independent seamstress for Greeman’s Furniture in Seymour. Wilma and her husband, John, also owned and operated Tuff and Puffs for over 15 years. Upon retirement, she did freelance embroidery work.

Wilma was loved beyond measure by her husband, John, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, who were her “pride and joy”. She enjoyed her trips with her husband to all fifty states, particularly their trips to Hawaii and Alaska, and their trip to Australia. Wilma also enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and watching I.U. basketball and football games, as well as Cincinnati Reds baseball games.

Born on February 8, 1938, in Jackson County, Wilma was the daughter of Otis “Hick” and Lorraine Spurgeon Browning, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 25, 1956, at White Creek Methodist Church, she married John Edward Frische, and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2021.

Survivors include two sons: Mark Edward (Rhonda) Frische of Seymour, and John Michael (Shelly) Frische of Seymour; seven grandchildren: Kendall Elliott of Salem, Elizabeth (J.T.) Patterson of Seymour, Matthew (Celeste) Frische of Indianapolis, Makinsie (Jerry) Hickman of Brownstown, Brandt (Samantha) Frische of Brookville, Ohio, C. Tanner Belcher of Seymour, and Carson Frische of Seymour; five great-grandchildren: Harper Frische, Lilly Frische, Calvin Hickman, Saylor Hickman, and Sutton Hickman; one brother, Floyd (Carol) Browning of Cortland; and one sister, Jane Gardner, of Brownstown.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Frische was also preceded in death by an infant brother, and a brother-in-law, Donald Gardner.

Funeral services for Wilma Deloris Frische will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Kenneth Browning officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the funeral home

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.

Memorials may be given to Schneck Medical Center Hospice or Girl’s, Inc.
