The Jackson County Public Library board of trustees looked at preliminary 2023 operating fund budget numbers during a meeting Monday at the Seymour Library.

The budget is available to the public on the Indiana Gateway at gateway.ifionline.org. The public hearing on the budget will be during the regular board meeting Sept. 19, and the adoption will be at the regular board meeting Oct. 17.

Also during Monday’s meeting, the board approved a 5% overall increase in salaries for budgetary purposes, staff and policy changes and donating 18 square feet of property at Second and Poplar streets to the city for the Second Street improvement project. The donation is dependent on information from the Indiana State Board of Accounts.

The board’s next meeting and the public hearing on the 2023 budget are at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Seymour Library.
