Public hearing on Brownstown sewer rates set for Monday night

The Brownstown Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the town hall, 116 E. Cross St., Brownstown.

The agenda includes a public hearing on the sewage service rates and charges before the council considers approval of an ordinance to establish those rates and charges.

A representative from Wessler Engineering also will attend the meeting with a release of funds letter, an agreement and a notice to proceed for a wastewater project for the council to consider for approval.

Also, the wastewater, street and police department heads and the park board and school trustee representative will present monthly activity and business.

Plus, the council will consider approval of a public street solicitation ordinance and street closures for an Anchor House Family Assistance Center and Pantry event Aug. 27 (East Walnut and North Sugar streets) and a Community Church event Sept. 23 and 24 (Tanner Street).

The meeting is open to the public and press.
