City approves home-based dog grooming business

A Seymour woman wanting to run a dog grooming business out of her home received final approval from the city.

During a meeting Tuesday night at city hall, the Seymour Board of Zoning Appeals unanimously approved Dana Clubb’s request for a land use variance at 410 Hawthorn Court.

Clubb told the board she will not be boarding dogs at her home, and they will not be outside. She only plans on grooming small breed dogs and will be drop-off only.

No one from the public attended the meeting to speak in favor of or against the request, and it passed 5-0.

The BZA had the final say on the matter after the Seymour Plan Commission passed it on with a favorable recommendation during that board’s meeting June 9.
