Local author receives honorable mention

Local author Scott Davis recently received honorable mention in the 2022 Beach Book Festival for his children’s book “The Adventures of Bob the Bat.”

Davis said the book is loosely based on the adventures of bats that would come into his house when he and his family lived on North Walnut Street in Seymour.

His daughter, Heather Lewis, found the 20-year-old manuscript during the time her parents were moving but didn’t tell Davis. Instead, she got in touch with Larry Arrowood of Woodsong Publishing and had the book published as a surprise for Davis last Christmas.

The pastor’s grandson, Matthew Arrowood, designed the cover, and a local Seymour High School student, Eliza Wilson, illustrated it, so everything about the book is from Seymour.

Davis’ book is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, walmart.com, woodsongpublishing.com and other online stores.
