Mrs. Brenda K. Dean Shelley Stucker

Mrs. Brenda K. Dean Shelley Stucker, age 75, of Hanover, Indiana entered this life on October 21, 1946 in Jefferson County, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Clarence Morris Dean and Doris Jean Brittenback Dean. She resided all of her life in Jefferson County and was a 1964 graduate of Southwestern High School. Brenda’s marriage to Billy Joe Shelley was blessed with a daughter Tamara and son Kevin. Brenda later married her second husband Harley Stucker on July 16, 2001. Brenda worked as a secretary in the Southwestern School Corporation in Hanover from 1979 – 2009 and most recently at Pope John Pre-school in Madison from 2009 – 2021 as an instructional assistant. She was a member of the Hanover United Methodist Church and was the youth group leader at Kent United Methodist Church for several years. Brenda enjoyed sewing, walking, going to the beach, relaxing in her pool and doing word searches, but most of all being “Memaw” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brenda will be remembered for her devotion to help others and her award-winning smile. Brenda died on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at 10:07 a.m. at Thornton Terrace in Hanover, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY

Brenda will be missed by her husband of nearly 21 years, Harley Lee Stucker of Hanover, Indiana; her loving daughter Tamara Shelley Josephsen and her husband Rich of Madison, Indiana; her loving son, Kevin Shelley and his wife, Nancy of Seymour, Indiana; a step son David Stucker of Madison, Indiana; her loving brother, Richard “Dicky” Dean of Hanover, Indiana: her loving sister, Deanna Dean Mather and her husband John Mather of Cape Coral, Florida; her loving grandchildren, Derrick Shelley (Lesley), Jordan Robison, Ashley Deventer (Bobby), Kalyn Robison, Danielle Pinnow (Matthew), Denver Shelley, Elizabeth Stucker, Nolan James Monroe Stucker; her great grandchildren, Emmett and Harper Shelley; several cousins, nieces and nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Joe Shelley, died on February 4, 1972, her father Clarence Morris Dean, died February 29, 1968, and her mother, Doris Jean Brittenback Dean, died October 9, 2017.

FUNERAL CEREMONY

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. by Pastor Brynen Chitwood and Rodney Nay at the Morgan &Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Springdale Cemetery, 600 West Fifth Street in downtown Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION

Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the Morgan &Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Miss Brenda Remembrance Scholarship in care of Friends of Shawe and Pope John or the Norton Neuroscience Institute.
