Antique farm machinery show planned Friday and Saturday

The 13th annual Jackson County Antique Farm Machinery Show will be Friday and Saturday at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, 476 E. County Road 100S, Brownstown.

The Jackson County Antique Machinery Association Inc. event will start at 9 a.m. daily with prayer and the playing of the national anthem.

The show will feature Allis-Chalmers tractors, garden tractors and equipment. There is expected to be around 100 tractors and 100 antique engines at the show.

Admission is $2 for adults and free for children 12 and under. There also will be free gate entrance Friday for veterans.

A silent auction will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday. Free ham and beans will be served at 6:30 p.m. Friday with live music provided.

Both days, there will be displays of vintage equipment, antique tractors, barrel train rides, a swap meet and flea market and an open cruise-in for antique cars and trucks.

There will be live demonstrations of basket weaving, jewelry making, blacksmithing and woodworking in at least one of the fairgrounds buildings.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, there will be a pedal tractor pull for children.

A variety of food will be available from the Carr Township Conservation Club and other organizations.

The show is sponsored by area merchants and the Jackson County Visitor Center.
