Joan E. Matthews

Joan E. Matthews 82, of Seymour Indiana, formerly of North Vernon passed away on May 28, 2022. She was born in December of 1939 to the late George Joseph Burke and Elizabeth Lewis Burke.

In 1973 she married Jimmy C. Matthews and he preceded her in death in 2010.

Joan was a 1958 graduate of Shields High School and enjoyed flowers, bird watching, and home decorating.

She is survived by her; nephews John (Vickie) Johnson, Steve Johnson, and George (Lillian) Johnson and great nephew Jacob Johnson along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Donald Burke and infant twin James Francis Burke, sister Shirley Marie Johnson, nephew Mark K. Johnson and niece Donna Marie Branaman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 1, 2022, from 5-7 pm at Voss and Sons Funeral Service and on Thursday June 2, 2022, from 12 until the time of service at 1 pm at Voss and Sons Funeral Service.

Family request memorial be given to Parkinson’s Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, or Donor’s Choice in Care of Voss and Sons Funeral Service.
