Tabeling receives top 100 invite

She scored in double figures 23 times this season with her high games being 34 against Southwestern and 32 against South Knox and Brownstown Central. She scored 20 or more in 12 other games.

Tabeling now has 1,583 points through her junior year at Trinity and ranks third on the school’s career scoring list.

She also was named The Tribune’s county Player of the Year for her efforts on the hardwood this season.

Tabeling currently is in the midst of her junior softball season for the Cougars, and she’ll play AAU ball with Indiana Elite Thunder this summer.

Former Brave earns football honors

Former Brownstown Central football player Gavin Bane has reaped the rewards for his 2021 season at the University of Indianapolis.

Bane was a running back that shifted to linebacker in his Greyhound career.

For his efforts this past fall, Bane was named the 2021 UIndy Defensive MVP in addition to first team all-conference in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Bane finished the year with 69 total tackles (45 solo, 24 assisted), and he also had 14 tackles for loss, racking up a total of 46 negative yards.

He had five sacks and also played a big role in the turnover game. Bane forced four fumbles and recovered three, and he also had three interceptions that he returned back for a total of 27 yards.

The Greyhounds went 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the GLVC last season.
