Legal Aid plans to hold a free phone clinic for residents of the eight-county district from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The district includes Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Rush and Shelby counties.
Registration is required by calling 812-378-0358 between noon and 2 p.m. that day. The clinics are for low-income residents.
The program utilizes local volunteer attorneys offering free legal consultations to low-income individuals for the provision of legal advice and assistance in furtherance of equal access to justice within the community who might not otherwise be able to afford the counsel of an attorney.
Those calling the clinic can expect to receive a 10-minute consultation to answer general questions, including housing/eviction questions, offer legal information or to receive other limited pro se assistance or advice.
The next clinic will be April 26 with the same registration requirements and time frame.
